Margaret Cochran Corbin



Corbin, Margaret Cochran (1751–1800), American Revolutionary War hero. Replacing her husband at his cannon when he was killed in battle at Fort Washington (now in New York City), Corbin fought until she was seriously wounded. Left disabled, Corbin became one of the first women to receive a military pension from the Continental Congress.
