Charles Conrad Jr.



Conrad, Charles, Jr. (1930–), U.S. astronaut. In 1965 Conrad made an 8-day spaceflight in Gemini 5 intended to prove that humans could endure weightlessness long enough to reach the moon andreturn. In 1970 Conrad was commander of the Apollo 12 flight, which was the second moon landing.
