Concord



Concord (pop. 36,006), capital of and third largest city in New Hampshire; seat of Merrimack County. Dating back to 1659, when it was a plantation, and incorporated under its present name in 1765, the historic city is situated on the Merrimack River 75 mi (121 km) northwest of Boston. The city is the financial and political hub of New Hampshire.
