Chlamydia



Chlamydia, infectious sexually transmitted disease, caused by various strains of bacteria. Symptoms may include inflamed eyes (conjunctivitis) and pelvic inflammation disease in women. Babies born to mothers with untreated chlamydia may develop pneumonia or the infection itself. One of the most widespread sexually transmitted diseases in the United States, chlamydia is treated with antibiotics.
