Cherry laurel



Cherry laurel (family Rosaceae, genus Prunus), any of various evergreen shrubs native to southeastern Europe and the Orient. The cherry laurel is grown for ornamental use in the United States. Reaching to 18 ft (5.4 m), the shrub bears small, glossy, poisonous leaves, fragrant clusters of small white flowers, and dark purple, foul-tasting friut.
