Raul Hector Castro



Castro, Raul Hector (1916– ), governor of Arizona (1975–77). Born in Mexico, Castro moved to Arizona in 1926 and became a U.S. citizen in 1939. He earned a law degree from the University of Arizona in 1949. He was U.S. ambassador to El Salvador 1964–1968, and to Bolivia 1968–1969. In 1977 he was named U.S. ambassador to Argentina.
