Cassiopeia



Cassiopeia, w-shaped constellation of the northern hemisphere, which appears between the North Star and the Big Dipper, directly north of the constellation Andromeda. An exploding star (supernova) was observed in Cassiopeia in 1572 by the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe.
