Carnivorous plant

Carnivorous plant, or insectivorous plant, term used for plants that have mechanisms for trapping and digesting insects. Over 500 known species of these plants are divided into 6 unrelated families. The diverse group ranges in size from microscopic fungi to the large Pitcher Fungi.
