Carmelites

Carmelites, friars of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a religious order of the Roman Catholic Church. It is named for Mount Carmel, in Israel, where it originated about 1150. The Carmelites' strict rule was based on silence and solitude, but it was slightly relaxed by the English prior, Saint Simon Stock. The order's typical clothing consists of a brown habit and scapular, with a white mantle and black hood.
