Carbon monoxide



Carbon monoxide (CO), colorless, odorless, very poisonous gas that burns with a pale blue flame and is a component of coal gas, exhaust fumes, and most smoke (including cigarette smoke). Inhalation of carbon monoxide causes dizziness, headache, and convulsions, and can lead to brain damage, paralysis, and death.
