Al Capp



Capp, Al (1909–79), U.S. cartoonist, creator of the comic strip “Li'l Abner.” The New York Mirror first published this famous comic about the residents of “Dogpatch U.S.A.” in 1934. The characters entertained readers and allowed Capp to develop social commentary on the current events and celebrities of his time.
