Canova, Antonio (1757–1822), Italian sculptor, a leading exponent of neo-classicism. His works include Cupid and Psyche (1787–92), several statues of his patron Napoleon, and a famous statue of Pauline Bonaparte Borghese as the reclining Venus Victrix (1808).
