Canary Islands

Canary Islands, group of islands in the Atlantic Ocean off the northwest coast of Africa that make up 2 Spanish provinces. The main islands are Tenerife, Palma, Gomera, Hierro, Grand Canary, Fuerteventura, and Lanzarote; their land area is nearly 3,000 sq mi (7,770 sq km).
