Camphor

Camphor, white, crystalline compound (C10H16O) distilled from the wood of a species of laurel tree (Cinnamonum camphora). It has a strong odor that repels insects and is used medicinally—internally as a pain-killer and anti-spasmodic, and externally in linaments.
