Pierre Boulez



Boulez, Pierre (1925– ), French composer and conductor, noted for his extension of 12-tone techniques to rhythm and dynamics in such works as Le Marteau sans maître (1951) and Pli selon pli (1960). He was music director of the New York Philharmonic (1971–77), and has conducted many of the world's leading orchestras.
