Sandro Botticelli



Botticelli, Sandro (Alessandro di Mariano Filipepi; c.1444–1510), Florentine Renaissance painter. His work is noted for superb draftsmanship, the use of sharp yet graceful and rhythmic line, and exquisite coloring. Among his most famous works are the allegorical tableaux on mythological subjects, Spring and The Birth of Venus.
