Jorge Luis Borges



Borges, Jorge Luis (1899–1986), Argentine poet and prose writer. At first influenced by the metaphorical style of Spanish ultráismo, he later developed a unique form between short story and essay, the “fiction.” Some of the best examples are in his Ficciones (1944) and El Aleph (1949).
