Bonito



Bonito, 3 types of fish resembling bluefin tuna, but rarely more than 30 in (76 cm) long. The striped bonito is found in all warm oceanic waters. The Atlantic bonito flourishes in the Mediterranean and warm sections of the Atlantic. The Pacific bonito is found in and near the Indian Ocean. They are strong swimmers and congregate in schools. Bonito, which average 6 lbs (2.7 kg), are valuable food fish.
