Arrigo Boito



Boito, Arrigo (1842–1918), Italian poet and composer. His own operas include Mefistofele (1868; revised 1875) and Nerone (1918), though he is best known as the librettist of Verdi's Otello (1887) and Falstaff (1893) and of Ponchielli's La Gioconda (1876).
