Bodleian Library



Bodleian Library, the library of Oxford University in Britain. It was established in 1602 by the English diplomat Sir Thomas Bodley to replace an earlier library, dating back to the 14th century, that had been destroyed. Its collection includes 2.5 million books, including many Oriental manuscripts.
