Blue crab



Blue crab, any of several edible, soft-shell crabs (Callinectes sapidus and C. hastatus) that inhabit Atlantic coastal shores and estuaries. The shell is green-brown and about 6 in (15 cm) wide; the legs are bluish. The blue crab is a scavenger, feeding on dead animals.
