Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher



Blücher, Gebhard Leberecht von (1742–1819), Prussian general, made a field marshal after helping to defeat Napoleon in the Battle of Leipzig (1813). A year later he led Prussian troops into Paris, and in 1815 the timely intervention of his troops was important in Wellington's victory over Napoleon at Waterloo.
