Marc Blitzstein

Blitzstein, Marc (1905–64), U.S. composer and librettist. He wrote the texts and music for the operas The Cradle Will Rock (1937) and Regina (1949). His greatest achievement was his translation and adaption of the English text for the 1954 New York state production of The Threepenny Opera, by Kurt Weil and Berthold Brecht.
