Bernese mountain dog

Bernese mountain dog, Swiss breed of large, powerful dog. They have long black hair with russet brown spots on the legs and face and white feet and chests. The dogs typically weigh from 50–75 lbs (23–34 kg) and stand 21–27 in (53–69 cm) tall at the shoulders. Romans originally brought the breed to Switzerland more than 2,000 years ago.
