Bassae



Bassae, site of one of the best-preserved temples of classical Greece, located near the ancient city of Phigalia in Arcadia. The temple of Apollo at Bassae was built at the end of the 5th century B.C. and its architect may have been Ictinus, builder of the Parthenon.
