James Barron



Barron, James (1769–1851), U.S. Navy Commodore. In 1807, Barron was ordered by a British frigate to surrender several sailors suspected of being British deserters. After being fired upon and suffering casualties, he surrendered the suspects and was court-martialed and suspended for 5 years.
