Mswati III



Mswati III (Prince Makhosetive; 1968– ), king of Swaziland since 1986, son of King Sobhuza II, whom he succeeded to become the world's youngest head of state. He named himself for 19th-century king Mswati (Mswazi), who unified the nation of the Ngwane (who subsequently became known as the Swazi). Mswati III reconstituted the government, dissolving the 12-member supreme council, appointing a new prime minister, and placing his brothers in key cabinet positions.
