Henry Moore



Moore, Henry (1898–1986), English sculptor. His inspiration came from natural forms, such as stones, roots, and bones, and was often expressed in curving abstract shapes perforated with large holes. His work, with repeated themes, such as mother and child, is monumental. It includes Family Group (1949) and Reclining Figure (1965).
