Montpelier



Montpelier (pop. 8,241), capital of Vermont. Located on the Winooski and North Branch rivers in central Vermont, many of its citizens are employed by the state government and insurance offices in the area. Products manufactured in Montpelier include lumber, granite, plastics, and stone-finishing and sawmill equipment. It is a tourist center.
