Mole



Mole, in dermatology, pigmented spot or nevus in the skin, consisting of a localized group of special cells containing melanin. Dramatic change in a mole, such as an increase in size, change of color, or bleeding, may indicate that the mole has developed in to a cancerous tumor called a melanoma, which can spread to other parts of the body.
