Mohawk River



Mohawk River, chief tributary of the Hudson River. Formed in Oneida county, central New York State, the Mohawk flows south and east for about 145 mi (233 km) joining the Hudson at Cohoes. The Mohawk Valley, a historic route from the Hudson to the Great Lakes, saw fierce fighting during the French and Indian Wars and the Revolutionary War.
