Minsk



Minsk (pop. 1,613,000), capital city of the Byelorussia, located on the Svisloch River. After suffering extensive damage during World War II, the city was revitalized by the creation of factories and new housing. Among the goods produced in Minsk are trucks, machine parts, tools, and radios. The city is also noted for its academic and cultural institutions.
