Minorca



Minorca, or Menorca, one of the Balearic Islands off the eastern coast of Spain. The second largest of the islands, it was seized several times by France and by England, who eventually ceded it to Spain in 1802. Minorca is known for its farm crops, light manufacturing, lobster fishing, and beaches. Tourism is also important.
