Claude McKay



McKay, Claude (1890–1948), U.S. poet and novelist born in Jamaica. His was the first and most militant voice of the New York Negro movement in the 1920s. His works include poetry, Harlem Shadows (1922), and the novel Home to Harlem (1927).
