Mayflower

Mayflower, ship that carried the Pilgrims to America in 1620. It left Plymouth, England, on Sept. 21 and reached Province town, Mass., on Nov. 21. The Pilgrims settled what is now Plymouth, Mass., after signing the Mayflower Compact. The Mayflower a 2-decker ship, probably 90 ft (27 m) long and about 180 tons (163 metric tons), has not survived, but an English-built replica, Mayflower II, sailed the Atlantic in 1957. It is now at Plymouth, Mass.
