Mata Hari



Mata Hari (Margaretha Geertruida Zelle; 1866–1917), Dutch-born dancer and spy for Germany in World War I. She belonged to the German secret service in Paris. The mistress of many French officials, she passed on military secrets to the Germans, for which she was tried and executed.
