Masai



Masai, people of eastern Africa who speak the Masai language of the Sudanic group. The nomadic pastoral Masai of Kenya, the largest Masai tribe, practice polygamy and organize their society on a system of male age sets, graded from junior warrior up to tribal elder. They subsist almost entirely by herding.
