Marsupial

Marsupial, any of an order (Marsupialia) of pouched mammals found mainly in Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea. With few exceptions, marsupials do not develop placenta. They give birth to undeveloped young that attach themselves to the mother's teats inside a pouch on her abdomen, where they continue their development. Members of the order include the kangaroo, koala, and wombat.
