Manzanita, ornamental shrub (Arctostaphylos tomentosa), of the heath family. Native to the Pacific Coast of the United States and Canada, manzanita is an evergreen that reaches heights of 20 ft (6 m). It produces pink or white bell-shaped flowers and bright red berries and is cultivated for its decorative value.
