Manu



Manu, in Hindu mythology, the lawgiver. Compiled into the Manu Smriti (Code of Manu) between 200 B.C. and A.D. 200, these laws delineated the classes (castes) in Hindu society and formed the basis for the life plan of all Hindus in 4 stages. It also set forth the goals they are expected to attain during those 4 stages.
