Frederic William Maitland

Maitland, Frederic William (1850–1906), English jurist and legal historian. He was particularly concerned with early English law and founded the Selden Society (1887). Notable among his works is The History of English Law before the Time of Edward I (1895), written with Sir Frederick Pollock.
