Magnetometer



Magnetometer, instrument that surveys the strength of a magnetic field and registers its results through electronic voltage. Magnetometers are used by biomedical technicians to measure the magnetic field of certain body organs, such as the brain. They are used in industry, especially by those working with superconductors, and by prospectors attempting to detect ore or petroleum beneath the ground.
