Roderick Mackenzie



Mackenzie, Roderick (1760?–1844), Canadian politician and pioneer Commander of Fort Chipewyan (1789–93), he built it with his cousin, Sir Alexander Mackenzie, after they had trailblazed their way west to this northeastern point in Alberta. Later, in eastern Canada, he served as a member of the Legislative Council of Lower Canada.
