Macadamia nut



Macadamia nut, edible seed from the macadamia tree (Macadamia terrifolia), a member of the protea family. Native to Australia, the nut of this tropical evergreen is an important Hawaiian crop today. Roasted, the round white nuts—also known as bush nuts, among other names—may be eaten by themselves or incorporated into baked or cooked foods.
