Lysippus

Lysippus (380s?–306 B.C.), sculptor of ancient Greece. Although he is said to have created some 1,500 works, no authenticated originals remain. Influenced by the earlier Greek sculptor Polykleitos, Lysippus developed more slender, active looking figures. He is known mostly for his sculptures of male athletes, cast and often copied in his preferred medium, metal.
