Litharge



Litharge, poisonous compound (PbO) of lead and oxygen, also called lead monoxide. Litharge is a yellow or reddish-yellow solid produced by heating lead or lead compounds in air. It is used in storage batteries and in making lead glass, rubber, and pottery glazes.
