Lime

Lime, shrublike citrus tree (Citrus aurantifolia) that grows a green fruit smaller and more acidic than the lemon. Limes are grown around the Mediterranean, in the West Indies, Central America, and India. Rich in vitamin C, they were once important in preventing scurvy among sailors on long sea voyages.
