Benjamin Henry Latrobe



Latrobe, Benjamin Henry (1764–1820), English-born U.S. architect and engineer. His work includes the southern wing of the Capitol in Washington, D.C., and the Roman Catholic cathedral in Baltimore. A pioneer of the Classical revival, he was the first major professional architect in the United States.
