Hugh Latimer



Latimer, Hugh (c.1490–1555), English Protestant martyr and Reformation leader. He defended Henry VIII's divorce from Catherine of Aragon, and was made bishop of Worcester in 1535. With Nicholas Ridley, he was burned at the stake as a heretic by order of the Roman Catholic Queen Mary I.
