Lark



Lark, any of a family (Alaudidae) of small terrestrial songbirds of Europe, Asia, North America, and Africa. The birds are streaked brown or gray, and feed on insects and seeds, walking or running at great speed along the ground. Larks are known for their beautiful songs, usually delivered on the wing.
